The end is nigh, at least for the Droid Eris and the BlackBerry 9630. Verizon has decided to put these two venerable-ish smartphones out to pasture for good. BGR reports that an internal Verizon memo stated that the end-of-life date for the Eris would be in May, while the Tour (9630) will go quietly into that good night this June.

If you want one of either of these devices, you'll want to grab them now. Big Red is making room for better things. The Eris and Tour must die, so that the HTC Incredible may live on. Soon people, soon.
