Apple just announced that they delay the international launch of the iPad by a whole month. Apple says that the reason for the delay is the surprising demand for the iPad in the United States.

Apple has delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week and already has taken a large number of pre-orders for iPad 3G models for delivery by the end of April.

Apple will announce international pricing and begin taking online pre-orders on Monday, May 10. The iPad will then ship end of May in Europe and other countries around the world.

This news is a blow to Apple fans around the world and gives contenders like the WePad and the HP Slate a bigger chance to compete in these markets.
