The new MacBook Pro laptops are here and offer the new Intel Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs. Gizmodo already got their hands on a 15-inch Core i7 MacBook Pro and published results of some benchmark tests.
The Core i7 makes the MacBook Pro about 50% faster than the previous Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros.

If you need the top of the line Core i7 MacBook Pro or can be happy as well with a Core i5 MacBook Pro depends on your usage. If you do a lot of video encoding then a Core i7 is sure the best choice. If you use your MacBook for surfing the web and email than the Core i5 is sure powerful enough. If you like a fast MacBook Pro experience make sure you invest in a SSD.
