HP is the largest computer maker in the world, but PCs are not all the firm makes. It also has a full line of branded peripherals like printers. HP has announced the industry's first line of plug and play printers along with a portable scanner.

The new monochrome laser printers use HP Smart install and include the new LaserJet Pro P1100, LaserJet M1130 and M1219 MFP printers, and the LaserJet Pro P1566.P1606dn printers. The new printers has auto-on and off tech to sense when a job is sent to the printer and wake the device automatically to save port.

The smart install tech lets the user simply plug the printer in and it works without needing to use CDs or install drivers manually. The Scanjet Pro 1000 Mobile scanner is a small 1.4-pound scanner for business users to scan documents on the go. It can scan double-sided docs, cards and other forms.
