Drift Innovation Unveils X170 Action Camera

There is certainly no shortage of cameras on the market that are aimed at the action sports enthusiasts. These cameras are designed to be mounted on the handlebars of bikes, helmets, and on goggle straps to capture the glory or defeat of the person wearing the camera. The new X170 is the latest in the line of cameras for sports fans.

The camera shoots video in 720 x 480 resolutions and can take 5MP still shots. It has a 1.5-inch color screen and a wireless remote for controlling the video that is good form 5 meters away. The lens has a 170-degree wide angle and can be rotates.

The idea behind the rotating lens is to allow the user to mount the camera in a position that is convenient and then the lens can be rotated 300-degrees to allow for the perfect angle for shooting. A mic and speaker are built in for capturing sound and then hearing the sound with playback. The camera is waterproof to 0.5m and comes with several mounts. Power comes from a pair of AA batteries and the camera has 32MB of onboard memory.
