The iPad is now welcome in the holy land. After several weeks of being banned by customs the Apple tablet is no longer contraband. Reuters reports that, following “intensive technical scrutiny”, the iPad has been forgiven. It was initially banned because it did not meet Israel's wireless device standards.

The Communications Ministry sent out a technical team, who found that the iPad can work according to local standards. As a result, travelers will be allowed exactly one iPad per person starting Sunday, April 25th. The 20 iPad “prisoners” that were confiscated will be returned shortly.
