Buy This Now On Amazon

Google's first internally developed mobile phone will be available in the UK this Friday, mobile provider Vodafone confirmed this morning.

Even more good news is that the device itself won't cost anything. Customers who sign up for a 2-year contract from Vodafone will get their Nexus One for free.

The Nexus One had already been manufactured to work in regions outside the US, but those wanting to buy the device outright without a mobile contract subsidy had to pay through the nose to do so.

This is the first non-US carrier that Google has teamed up with for the Nexus One.

UK customers can pre-order their Nexus One starting today, from Vodafone's Web site. Unlike in the US where Google is selling the phone exclusively through Google.com, the Nexus One will be available in Vodafone retail stores when it hits the UK on Friday.
