A new Asus multimedia netbook has just been announced. The Eee PC 1005PR (Hot Hardware) is a cheap, HD-ready ultraportable with a Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator inside. It is powered by an Atom N450 processor and has a 10.1” screen and HD audio. According to Asus, this baby will get “up to” 11 hours of battery life.

The screen is LED backlit, the hard drive is 250 GB, and the WiFi is b/g/n. It features dual-booting operating systems, so you can choose between Windows 7 Starter or Express Gate for faster surfing. If the 1005PR sounds like the netbook for you, it is on sale today for around $400.
