It sounds crazy, but World of Warcraft could be coming to the iPad in the near future. Gaikaiis developing an app that would allow users to stream WoW onto the iPad via their data servers. The app has not been seen in action yet, but this sort of service is definitely possible. Last year there was even talk of a similar app putting Crysis on the iPhone. gave the world its first look at WoW on the iPad. All it displayed was the starting login screen (UI changes are likely needed to make it playable), which is still quite exciting. Soon a whole generation of nerds could have an easily portable way to completely divorce themselves from the real world.

That is, if Apple approves Gaikai's app for the App Store. I've got my doubts. The iPad 3G's bandwidth gets throttled on streaming movie apps. How likely is Apple to allow streaming of an entire MMORPG? Imagine the server strain of a half-million nerds spending five hours a day questing.
