Bluetooth SIG Names ZOMM One To Watch

Smartphones are far from cheap devices and rightfully most buyers go to extremes to protect the devices and keep them safe. The Bluetooth SIG has named a new device that uses Bluetooth to help prevent theft of your smartphone called ZOMM One to Watch for Bluetooth innovation.

We have heard of the device before when it debuted at CES earlier this year. The ZOMM device fits on a keychain and connects to your phone via Bluetooth. When the ZOMM device detects the phone is a certain distance away from the user it sounds an alert to get the user to see where the phone is.

ZOMM also has a panic feature that can call for help from anywhere in the world. Basically, it’s a proximity detector that helps prevent you from walking away without your phone and alerts you if someone is walking away with your phone.
