I'll be the first to tell you that if you put me on someone else's computer to work, my productivity drops. I have my computer set up exactly the way I like it to the point that when I use other people machines I end up having to search for things since I am used to my icons in a specific spot.

Some employers are finding that by allowing the worker to use their own computer they can be more productive. Kraft Foods has announced an interesting new program for its employees that allows them to bring their own computer to work.

The hope is that the workers will be more productive on a machine they are familiar with. Kraft is going a step further and offering workers a stipend to purchase a computer, Microsoft Office, and the security software needed to protect the computer and the company's networks.
