Hulu, watch your ass. Google and Intel are teaming up to change television forever. The Financial Times reports that both companies are hard at work bringing a 'Smart TV' concept to market. Paul Otellini, Intel's CEO, called it the “biggest single change” to TV since the advent of color.
Intel Atom Chips plus Google Android on your home TV presents a number of exciting possibilities. The latest Atom chip is currently backordered by 1 million units, a sign of the tremendous growth in 'smart TVs' expected by the end of the year. Expect a major advertising blitz to come later this year, along with a slew of new connected TVs.
Google will be addressing the Android developer community this week to ask them to begin building apps for TVs.
