The ultimate in convenience! Seagate, makers of the first 3 TB drive, are about to launch a hybrid drive (via Fudzilla). The Momentus XT series are 2.5” drives that come with 4 GB of fast SLC NAND, 32 MB of cache, and a run speed of 7200 rpm. They are limited to 3 Gbps SATA.

These drives come in 3 sizes; 250 GB (92 euros), 320 GB (100 euros), and 500 GB (124 euros). Not cheap, and the flash capacity isn't exactly great. We should at least get 8 GB to play with. 4 is barely enough for a modern game (with addons/patches/saves). Hopefully this is the start of a trend in consumer drives. Hybrids seem incredibly convenient.
