Today at the I/O conference, Google is going over a few of their early Google TV apps to give us an idea of what we should expect from Google TV. The coolest application yet shown off was Google Subtitles. You create your own closed captioning streams by using Google translate to translate video into whatever language you want.

Google Translate is obviously imperfect, but this is still a HUGE leap forward from the options that exist now. Automatic translation through a real time caption feed is just...well, groundbreaking. As overblown and hype-y as this conference was, Google really seems to be full of good ideas today.
