HP Taiwan Confirms WebOS Tablets/Smartphones

Here's some of the least surprising (but most exciting!) news of the weekend; HP Taiwan's vice president of personal computing systems group has just confirmed that HP will be releasing webOS smartphones and tablets. (Digitimes) Since netbooks are basically very tiny, battery-efficient PCs, the company will not use webOS in any of those products.

HP will announce more details once the Palm acquisition has been completed. That should happen late July. The HP Slate is still scheduled to launch before the end of the fiscal year (October) and customers should expect a “wide range” of software and apps. I guess it's time to start drooling over pictures of the Slate again.
