Vodafone is now taking pre-orders on the Samsung Wave smartphone. The device is the first handset to run the Samsung Bada OS. The device will feature a 3.3-inch AMOLED screen and a 1GHz processor.

Bada promises to deliver an almost limitless variety of potential applications. The real key is if developers will support the OS with new apps. With most focusing on the iPhone OS and Android, a new Bada Os will be a hard sell.

The Wave will be offered for free on plans at £25 monthly on Vodafone. The plan at that price offers 300 minutes of voice calls and 500GB of data each month. I don’t see this OS or device taking off in the market today.
