Buy This Now On Amazon

The iPad may end up being serious trouble for netbooks after all. VentureBeat reports that a survey by Retrevo shows that nearly one in three buyers who had been considering a netbook went with an iPad instead. This survey involved more than 1,000 US customers from a variety of genders, ages, incomes and locations.

Retrevo asked; “Did you hold off on buying a netbook after the iPad was announced in January?”. 30% said that, no, they went ahead and bought an iPad anyway. 40% say that they held off but eventually bought a netbook anyway. 30% said that they held off and ended up buying an iPad.

Once more tablet computers launch and customer choice expands beyond the “premium” Flash-less iPad, I think we'll see the number of lost netbook sales jump dramatically. Tablets have that oh-so-valuable “wow” factor.
