Rumors are one of those ever-present things in the tech world and one of the most recent had to do with NVIDIA. The rumor claimed that NVIDIA was getting ready to cancel the GTX 470 after only a few months on the market.

NVIDIA has now officially denied that it has any plans to kill off the new Fermi GTX 470 video cards. Big green told The Tech Report that it wants a good; better, best setup in the Fermi line and the GTX 470 is a part of that plan.

NVIDIA said, "The GTX 470 is really important for us from a product perspective. It's basically our best price-performance product in the enthusiast line, so we have absolutely no plans of discontinuing that. Actually we are enhancing that part of the product line over the next month or so."
