Zoom Debuts H1 Handy Recorder

Zoom has announced its latest audio recording device called the H1 Handy Recorder. The tiny little recorder weighs about two ounces and has the same studio quality mics as the H2 mic. The H1 is also priced low compared to other recorders on the market.

The H1 sells for $99 and is one of the most affordable solutions on the market. The device has a pair of onboard mics in an X/Y pattern providing stereo capability for recording music, interviews, lectures, and other items.

The H1 records in 24-bit/96kHz in WAV format or MP3 format from 48 to 320kbps. It stores the recordings to microSD card sup to 32GB providing over 50 hours of recording. Power comes from a single AA battery good for up to ten hours. An accessory kit sells for $24.99 with a windscreen, AC adapter, USB cable, and tripod.
