What a whirlwind! First came the devastating rumor from Good E-Reader that the famed Notion Ink Adam will not launch until November. Rohan Shravan, a Notion Ink co-founder, is reported to have told a fan via email that the company's investors were pushing for a holiday release.

Later in the day, Notion Ink responded (via SlashGear) and stated that the November launch will be for “a few countries”, but not all of them. The company also stated that they would release an actual launch date “soon”.

Timing is crucial for the Adam. If (and that is a rather large if) this tablet delivers on all of its promises, it has every chance of blowing the market wide open. With its transreflective LCD screen, Tegra 2 chipset, 10.1” screen, ability to display 1080p video and ridiculous battery life the Adam is the most impressive tablet in development.

But it won't stay that impressive for long. In five months, the tablet market will be a much more target-rich environment. Customers will have a wide choice, and many of them will ally to big names like HP and Sony over a newcomer like Notion Ink.
