We mentioned earlier that AT&T was offering many people, especially those who are iPhone users an early upgrade to a new device eat discounted prices. The iPhone HD (of iPhone 4G) is widely expected to land today. Back on Friday, I went into my AT&T account to see if AT&TY had offered me a new iPhone upgrade and they had not.

As of Friday, the best AT&T was offering me was a discounted upgrade in mid-August. With today as D-day for the expected launch of the new device, I logged on again this morning and was greeted with a change in my eligibility status. AT&T will not let me upgrade to a new iPhone at the normal subsidized rate with a new 2-year agreement and an $18 upgrade fee.

My device is the one you see at the top of the attached image (below). It is interesting to note that the iPhone on the bottom of the plan is for my wife, she has only had her iPhone for maybe 6 months. AT&T moved her upgrade eligibility from better than a year out to this August.
