Foxconn has been under increasing scrutiny as workers at its Chinese manufacturing plant for iPhones are committing suicide. So far this year ten workers have killed themselves at the factory.

Foxconn maintains that working conditions at the factory are good and has offered the workers pay increases. Apple cut iPad profit less than 1% recently and gave that money to workers at the plant in a raise.

Foxconn has announced that it is offering to improve the pay of workers by up to 66% if they can pass a 3-month evaluation. Exactly what the evaluation will look for is unknown. Even at a 66% increase, workers still make under $300 USD monthly at the plant.
