Today's WWDC 2010 keynote (via Engadget) has been chock full of interesting announcements, most focusing on the iPhone 4. After the new iPhone had its time in the sun, Jobs announced a change to the iPhone OSes name. Instead of being called iPhone OS 4.0, it will now be iOS4.

This name change doesn't actually change anything else. Multitasking is still in, as are new folders and a “whole bunch” of other things. The inbox has been unified and threading has been enabled, allowing you to see all of the messages in a conversation at once. You can also create new folders by simply dragging and dropping apps.

So there you have it; iPhone OS 4 is now iOS4. Yay?
