Today at WWDC 2010 Apple announced the imminent launch of the iAd mobile advertising network. Iads will launch on July 1st for the iPhone and iPod touch device families. All iOS 4 devices will be able to view these ads. The first bevy of iAds to launch will feature advertisers such as Chanel, Campbell's soup, Nissan, State Farm, Disney and Geico. Steve Jobs promised that iAds will deliver the “emotion” of TV ads without pulling users away from their apps.

With iAds, users can stay inside their apps even while browsing ads. They can watch a video, play a game and even make a purchase without disrupting their other tasks. Developers will get 60% of the iAd revenue, which will be paid using iTunes connect.
