There are lots of universal remote control apps and hardware devices on the market for the iPhone today. Many of them aren’t so great to be honest. I-got-control has announced that it has updated its universal remote device for the iPhone just in time for Father's Day.

The new update is an enhanced version of the application that is now on the App Store. The new version is 1.2.1 and adds easier programming and more control of IR devices for stereos, TVs, and other IR products.

The software now offers the user 12 custom macros per device that will allow you to turn off your home theater components at the same time with one button press. This feature is what makes the Harmony line of remotes so cool. The i-got-Control hardware and App sell for $69.95; the app is a free download from the App Store.
