Today at E3 2010 Microsoft announced Kinect Adventures. The purpose of this game is to get you and your friends off of the couch and moving. Joining into a game will be as simple as standing in front of the Kinect. It will automatically split the screen to accommodate you and drop you into the game, no restart necessary.

Microsoft has hit upon something very important here. Nothing bogs down a party game quite as much as constantly quitting and restarting to accommodate new players.

Kinect Adventures will use the Kinect camera to take pictures of you and your friends while you play. These photos are displayed at the end of a game, allowing you to save party memories (and pictures of your drunken friends flailing around) forever.

The first two Kinect Adventures we saw were competitive and cooperative racing games. Quick point acquisition and synchronized jumping make for a fast, fun game that should be perfect for the average partygoers inebriated attention span.
