Next on Nexon's free-to-play MMO line-up is Vindictus, one of the most gut-level satisfying titles I have ever played. The team used the words “brutal elegance” to describe Vindictus. Considering you can literally slam an enemy against a cliff-side until he dies, I think the “brutal” is definitely justified.

You can destroy almost everything in Vindictus. Terrain and armor wait for a well-placed shot to come apart. Knock a stone pillar down, pick up one of the pieces, and use it to ventilate your opponent's face. Or, if you are a mage, knit the crumbled masonry together into the form of a fearsome golem.

Players will be able to customize everything from their character's appearance, to his undergarments. And, since YOUR armor can be hacked, burned and shot to pieces as well, you may end up seeing a lot of those. Vindictus is filled with neat little gameplay mechanics. For instance, running while taking a potion will cause some of it to spill, reducing the health you gain from it.

If you are looking for a free-to-play MMO with extremely satisfying combat and a whole lot of killing, Vindictus ought to be on your radar. After all, it won't cost you a dime.
