For those who managed to place a valid pre-order for the iPhone 4, Apple might have a surprise. Apple emailed out delivery notice emails telling customers that their iPhone 4 will be delivered on June 23rd, which would be a day early.
Engadget received such an email and other Apple store costumers got one too.

With the iPad Apple managed to avoid early deliveries, but here it looks like Apple is deliberately delivering the ordered iPhone 4 early via FedEx.

The July 14th delivery date for new iPhone 4 orders is still holding up. If you think you just stand in line at an Apple store on launch day, you most likely waste your time. The iPhone 4 in stock there are pre-ordered and for in-store pick-up. You might have more luck at Walmart. I did not hear about Walmart taking iPhone 4 pre-orders, but they will carry the iPhone 4 on launch day. How many iPhone 4 Walmart stores have in stock is unknown.
