3 Million IPads Sold: Yes, There Is A Tablet Market

Well, that's one burning question answered. Apparently there is a market for tablet computers after all. Apple's just revealed that they have sold 3 million iPads in just 80 days. They sent out a press release earlier today confirming the news. So far, there are over 11,000 iPad-specific apps in the app store, in addition to 225,000 normal apps.

At this point, it is clear that iPad sales aren't merely a fluke or the result of Apple's brand power. Customers are hungry for a device that can do what the iPad does, and they are proving it by spending hundreds of dollars on a product poo-pooed by many as a "giant iPhone". Once again, Steve Jobs laughs the last laugh.
