True gadget nerds know that spec sheets are closer to suggestions than hard limitations. When the Evo first launched, HTC pulled the wind from many people's sails when they announced that the device would have a framerate cap of 30 FPS. Thankfully, some clever hackers (via AndroidSpin) have managed to get the Evo up to a reasonable speed.

The XDA team has provided proof that they have an HTC Evo running at an average of 54 FPS. They also revealed that the FPS-cap exists in the Kernel, and is not a reflection of some sort of hardware limitation. Thanks for that, HTC.
