All most of us know about blimps today is that most big NFL game shave own hovering around taking pictures. Long ago in decades past the Blimp was used to carry people across the oceans, but the Hindenburg disaster pretty much eliminated that.

A scientist in the UK believes that in the coming decade blimps may again take to the skies. These blimps would be used for cargo that needs to get to a location faster than as ship is capable of, but not as quickly as a jet.

The blimps have some benefits too like twice the cargo capacity of a 747 and 90% less greenhouse gas emissions. One huge benefit is that the blimp wouldn't need an airport; cargo could be loaded via a built-in lift.
