Verizon Fios has become the next broadcast TV provider to offer a 3D sports channel, as the first to carry the 3D version of YES, a channel in the New York area that broadcasts all Yankees baseball games.
It will begin with tomorrow's Yankees vs Mariners game at 10:00 PM Eastern Time, and the channel will broadcast all of the games between the competing teams over the weekend.

DirecTV, Comcast, and AT&T currently air ESPN 3D, the first nationwide 3D channel that launched at the start of the World Cup. DirecTV also has its own line of exclusive 3D entertainment channels.

Other major broadcasters like Time Warner Cable and Dish Network still have no plans laid out for future 3D presentations or channels, though ESPN remains in discussions to bring its 3D network to as many providers as possible.

"The YES Network's 3D offering is just the latest way in which Verizon continues to enhance the value that Fios TV offers today's consumer," said Verizon in a statement.
