Modern technology can be a pain for some people. The SF Chronicle reports about a thief stealing an iPhone from a woman. 10 minutes later he got caught by police. How? Because the SF Police is that good? Not in this case. The woman was running her company's real-time GPS tracking software on her iPhone.

The app was running while the thief was riding away with his bicycle and the maker of the app, Covia Labs could track him in real-time - making it easy for police to catch the thief.
Next time you steal an iPhone switch it off. This story is of course great PR for Covia Labs. The rea-time tracking app is called Alert & Respond. The app is aimed at police and military use.
