The Motorola Droid X has been rooted for the first time. Droid-Life reports that a dev named Steven Bird (AKA mrweeeedbirdman) has succeeded in rooting the Droid X. Six days from launch to root isn't bad. Birdman promises to have more info up soon.

AllDroid has a step-by-step guide up on their forums, for those of you who just can't wait for a cleaner rooting kit to hit.
