Corning's Gorilla Glass is a glass that has more strength than your typical glass overlay use don LCD screens. Thanks to its durability, the glass is common on small smartphone screens today and is the glass used on the new iPhone 4.

Corning has announced that Gorilla Glass is coming to the LCD and Plasma TV market. The glass will be used on TVs to help increase the scratch and break resistant properties of the sets. This will be great news for TV fans that play lots of Wii.

The glass will turn up in 2011 on sets from multiple vendors. Gorilla Glass promises to be two to three times as strong as normal glass used on TVs.
