Rolling Stone magazine and Zino have announced the first ever integrated iPad and iTunes issue of the magazine. The issue is the special edition called Rolling Stone: 500 Greatest Songs of all Time. The issue is published using the Zino Unity platform.

When accessed on the iPad, the issue has features that let the reader access a sample of the song and buy it with the swipe of a finger. The issue is also available in a digital format for computer users with the same iTunes integration.

The issue should drive many sales for the iTunes store as readers listen to and buy the songs on the top 500 list. The Zino app for the iPad launched back in April and can be downloaded now.
