Blackberry phones are in the news not just because of yesterday's announcement of the new Blackberry Torch. Countries like India, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia are fearing the encrypted messaging available on the Blackberry phones.
According to the BBC, Saudi Arabia has now told telecoms firms in the country to block the Blackberry messenger function from Friday on.

The United Arab Emirates also said on Sunday to ban select Blackberry services.
If the Blackberry phones are the only ones singled out, that means messaging on other phones is like an open book.
