Epic Win.

Sprint has just sent out a press release confirming the launch of the Epic 4G and revealing details on the price and availability of that new mobile. We can expect to see the Sprint version of the Galaxy S launch on Tuesday, August 31. It will launch simultaneously on all Sprint retail avenues; RadioShack, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, telesales, etc. The carrier's retail stores will open at 8 AM for the launch.

The Epic 4G will set you back $249.99 after a $100 rebate. That is expensive, ahead of pretty much every other high-end smartphone out there. For your big wad of green, you'll get a 1 GHz processor, 4" SUPER AMOLED display, sliding QWERTY keyboard and 4G. Android 2.1 is the launch OS. The camera is a 5 MP shooter with auto-focus, power LED flash, a 4x digital zoom lens and 720p video recording.

Android 2.2 is set to hit in the "coming months".
