Classic cartoon bunny gets in on the 3D kick

Hollywood's most successful cartoon rabbit is getting his turn to shine in the new 3D entertainment medium, as Warner Bros has confirmed the making of a 3D Bugs Bunny movie.

It won't be the first time Bugs has been on the big screen. In 2003 he made a silver screen success out of Looney Tunes: Back In Action, and who could forget the time he starred alongside Michael Jordan in Space Jam?

This will, though, of course be his first time headlining a 3D feature film. A title hasn't been confirmed for the bunny's return to movies, but Warner Bros has confirmed that production is underway. David Berenbaum, a man with only a few, but a noteworthy few, screenplays under his belt has been tapped to write the script for the Bugs 3D flick.

Berenbaum also wrote Elf, Disney's The Haunted Mansion, and The Spiderwick Chronicles.

Computer-animated family 3D movies have proven to be the most successful in the new format, and Warner is hoping Bugs will continue that trend. Expect the movie in question to be available sometime next year.
