The plot thickens.

Two upcoming Windows Phone 7 smartphones may, in fact, be the same device. The HTC Mozart and the HTC Schubert have been leaking out here and there for the last few months. Now WMPowerUser has just received a new photo of the Mozart looks suspiciously like the HTC Schubert.

Unwired View has also noticed this, so it isn't just my addled brain making things up. There are a few possibilities here. One is that the Schubert and Mozart are two different versions of the same phone. One GSM, one CDMA. Since the Mozart is currently rumored for T-Mobile, that would put the Schubert as a Verizon possibility.

Another possibility is that we're just looking at two different nicknames for the same device based on different points in the development process. Or, one of those names is the internal code-name and the other is the name it'll be marketed under. If that's the case, we can expect to see this baby launch as the Mozart for T-Mo.
