RIM Might Finally Have A Hit.

Research firm iSuppli has some news about the BlackBerry Torch. When we heard that RIM's new superphone was selling for $100 it brought up immediate worries that the Torch might have no future. Now CrackBerry reports that iSuppli has released some interesting news about the device.

The total manufacturing cost of the Torch comes down to $171, with another $12 added in for manufacturing. The highest cost was for the displays, $34.85. That's a low profit margin for sure, but first weekend sales are also estimated at around 150,000. That's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, especially when you consider the fact that RIM is being subsidized by the carrier to some extent.
