Don't Miss: This How to find Fingerlings in Stock

Let your friends know where you are now. Of course Facebook knows it then too.

Facebook has launched their new location based service called Facebook Places. You can share where you are and the friends you're with in real time from your mobile device.

This is of course very similar to what Four Square is doing. On the one hand these location aware service can be fun, but I have also tons of security and privacy concerns with that. If this would work peer-to-peer I would feel much better about it, but your location gets transmitted, stored to a central server. I just wait for the day that we start to get spammed in person.

To get started to tell everybody where you are at, you'll need the most recent version of the Facebook application for iPhone. You also can access Places from touch.facebook.com if your mobile browser supports HTML 5 and geolocation.
