Consumers clamoring for latest motion-sensing game controller

As the countdown comes closer and closer to an end, the PS3's PlayStation Move controller has continuing interest among consumers, with demand climbing more than 50% over the last week.

The Move reportedly gained 51% more pre-order sales last week as it jumped to the 88th spot on Amazon's video game list.

The device will sell for $50 when it is released on September 19. Other accessories include a secondary Navigation controller for around $30. The Move also requires the PlayStation Eye motion-sensing camera, which has been available for a few years and is priced at $40. A bundle containing all three of these peripherals along with the game Sports Champions will be available for $100.

Sony will also be encouraging sales of its new 320 GB PS3 with a hardware bundle containing all the Move gadgets for around $400.

The Move will have a two month head start on Microsoft's Kinect accessory for the Xbox 360. That device will go on sale in November.
