Huzzah for XDA Developers!

The Motorola Droid 2 has now been rooted. Droid Life reports that the folks over at XDA Developers have succeeded in rooting Big Red's new flagship smartphone. It took 2 weeks for the code-nerds to crack this nut, and the process still needs much ironing out.

The XDA link above contains instructions to carry out the root yourself. Unless you're a brave soul, I'd recommend waiting a few weeks until a 1-step root kit hits the Internet.
