Say what?

What the hell, Square Enix? Final Fantasy Versus XIII, a game that was once assumed to come out right alongside Final Fantasy XIII, might not come out to the US for another TWO YEARS.

That's the feeling that people are taking away after the game's publisher recently declined to comment on whether or not Versus XIII would be coming out in 2011.

"We have no release date information to update. Unfortunately we can’t say anything about that. We can’t commit ourselves to 2011 either," said producer Yoshinori Kitase.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailers came out side-by-side with Final Fantasy XIII teasers in the time leading up to the latter's release. Original listings on sites like GameStop.com showed Versus actually coming out before FF XIII. However, it seems gamers should just stop holding their breath.

What the game will actually be is still kind of up in the air. Trailers released for the title have been confusing at best. It has been said that Versus XIII will remain exclusive to the PS3 in the US, even after FF XIII came to the Xbox 360.

We haven't seen any new screenshots or trailers in what seems like forever. For now, just keep it off your radar. There's apparently no reason to focus on it right now.
