Finally, a step forward from the Snapdragon.

The T-Mo G2 will pack a mighty 1 GHz processor. It won't be powered by the Snapdragon, but by a more advanced Qualcomm MSM7230 CPU chip. Android and Me reports that this new processor will actually eclipse the Snapdragon somewhat and be more in line with Samsung's 1 GHz Hummingbird.

The MSM7230 has an Adreno 205 GPU, which offers around four times the graphics performance of a Snapdragon. While this doesn't radically change our idea of the G2, it does provide a nice bit of elaboration to that sliding QWERTY keyboard, HSPA+ capability and HDMI-out.
