Buy This Now On Amazon

We reported earlier on this rumor from an unknown product developer. This designer heard that Apple is buying up all of the 10" LCD and OLED screens they can nab. The designer's employer was looking for 10" screens for a project, but was told by Asian suppliers that Apple had pre-ordered all of them. If Apple is pre-ordering 10" LCD and OLED screens, I can't imagine what they'd be for other than a tablet. That said, the inclusion of OLED screens in this rumor fills me with a fair amount of doubt. A tablet with a 10" OLED screen would be heinously expensive, there's no way Apple could bring it to market for much under $1000. It just seems ludicrous that they would try to push a product that expensive in the middle of a recession like this. Sure, some folks will buy it. But where is the mass appeal?Of course, the other possibility is that Apple is preparing two versions of the iSlate. One of them could sport an LCD screen and a reasonable (sub $500, maybe?) price tag, and the "rich freaking people" version could have that fancy OLED screen. This is all just pure, rank conjecture, but in the context of these particular rumors it is the only thing that makes sense.
