Amazon rumored to build a TV Streaming Service

Apple TV, Google TV and now Amazon TV?

Apple is rumored to build a streaming TV service to cut consumers loose from cable boxes. Google is working on Google TV and now the WSJ reports that Amazon is working on a subscription service that would deliver TV shows and movies over the net.
Amazon already offers Video On Demand, a service that lets you rent movies and watch them instantly similar to Netflix. Amazon has the backend know how to implement a more elaborate service that could compete with cable TV offerings.

It will be interesting to see if Apple is announcing anything in the TV area today at the media event. Rumors suggest that a $99 Apple TV is in the cards as well as 99 cent TV Show rentals.
