Well that was fast.

Samsung will be launching an extension to their Galaxy S smartphone line soon. Unwired View reports that the company has just sent out a press release announcing a September 16 launch event. It will unveil a new "Android-powered device" and the Samsung Media Hub.

The bottom of the invite contains the Samsung Galaxy S logo, which means this is likely to be a new phone in that family, and not the Tab. Info is pretty thin at this point, but it's good to know we won't have to wait long after IFA for another sweet launch.
