Before the new iPod touch 4G shipped it was discovered on the Apple iPod touch documentation that there would be a vibrating alert option.

Now that the first new iPod touch players have shipped it is clear that there is no vibrating alert option. Apple has according to MacRumors also updated the FaceTime for iPod touch description to omit the vibrating alert.

The component spotted in FCC tear down photos of the new iPod touch have apparently been misidentified as a vibration motor. In any case that is not such a big loss. How many FaceTime video calls are you expect to get during a meeting?

The new iPod touch is on sale on Amazon.
